Movie Review: 'Streets' Executive Produced by Charlie Mack, Starring Nafessa Williams and Meek Mill

This weekend marked the 8th Annual Charlie Mack Party for Peace Celebrity Weekend. Started in 1990 as 'simply a game' this year there was no celebrity basketball game. However, there were a lot of 'firsts'. There was the first Talented Teens Competition, where five lucky teens wowed the judges with their skills & nabbed themselves some scholarship money. There was the first Healthy Hoops Asthma Screening where Mack & his celebrity friends promoted healthy lifestyles. And there also was the first screening of Streets, an Overbrook Entertainment movie Executive Produced by Charlie Mack, Produced by Charlie Mack, Todd Wolfe and Jamal Hill, who also was the Director and Writer. The film stars Nafessa Williams, Meek Mill, Marvin Warner, and others.

iSocialite was on hand at the world premiere of 'Streets' and got a chance to check out the movie first!

The credits began rolling with Will Smith's 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' echoing through the theater. However, its simply a sample from rapper Meek Mill who stars in the film. Set in the mean streets of the City of Brotherly Love (oh the irony) 'Streets' is a gritty tale of a suburban girl (Williams) who moves to the city and gets caught up with the wrong crowd simultaneously getting herself stuck in the middle of an investigation overseen by her mother, who is Philadelphia's new Assistant DA.

Nicole was such a relatable character. Everyone has that one friend who's a little too 'green'. Sympathy for her character and the 'what's next' factor kept my eyes glued to the screen! Wish I could give more details but I don't want to spoil the film! Check out the trailer and keep an eye out!
